F LGB Swift JK Tyre National Racing Championship – Round 4 Chennai, MMRT Circuit

Race 1
Ameya Walavakar win race 1 from pole Narendran finish 2nd and Sandeep 3rd.
Ameya clocked the fastest time in the qualifying to grab pole after a disastrous race 2 in the previous round. Alongside the pole sitter was the young Karthik Krishna of TVS Racing. Narendran and Sarosh were on row 2. Championship leader Deepak was 10th on the grid.

At the start Ameya got away cleanly to C1 followed by Karthik and Narendran. Narendran moved ahead of his team mate to second and hung on to Ameya in the lead. Meanwhile Deepak moved to 5th. As the race progress Ameya and Narendran pulled away from the rest of the pack as Karthik and Sarosh battled it out for third place were joined by Deepak. Sarosh got ahead of Karthik and Deepak was on Karthik´s tail. Sandeep and Chittesh soon joined this group. By lap 5 Sarosh had a problem and had to retire into the pits. Karthik and Deepak had dropped and Sandeep gets into P3 followed by Chittesh. Deepak retired by lap 8th.

At the front Ameya was held on to take a 12seconds lead. Narendran was followed by Sandeep to the podium.

Race 2
Ameya wins as Narendran was taken out by Chittesh
It was reverse gird from qualifying and Sarosh was on the pole followed by Narendran, Karthik and Ameya. At the lights Sarosh had a fine start to lead into C1 but soon Narendran overtakes him. Chittesh got the better of Ameya at the start and it was looked like a 4way battle. Meanwhile Sarosh had a problem and had to slow down while Karthik retired. On Lap 3 the young karting National Champ from Kohlapur, Chittesh Mandody, closed in on Narendran and tried to make a move on C4 going on the inside braking too late causing a collision which toppled his car flipping thrice and forcing Narendran to go out handing the lead to Ameya. Chittesh´s car was badly damaged but the tall driver escaped unhurt which was miracle. Deepak who was running 2nd made jump start and was penalized while its was the young Chetan on second followed by Sandeep. Narendran had to join on 4th.

Ameya took a comfortable win followed by Chetan for his first podium and Sandeep in third.Narendran came in 4th followed by Prashant in 5th, Sarosh in 6th and Deepak in 7th.
