Junior Saloon – Diljith wins as Bala gets disqualified

Indian Junior Touring Cars, Round 2, Coimbatore Kari Motor Speedway, JK Tyre National Road Racing Championship 2011

Race 1 (Saturday)
Race 1 started with Diljith on pole and Bala vijay alongside and as the cars approched turn 1 Bala VIjay was nuding the line from Diljith touching and getting the leading to the corner. Behind the pack thre were few shakes and offroading and bangs between some cars which saw car25 tumbling into the air and taking along car 250 along with it and many cars were banged and bruised heavily in the process only to see the front 6 cars and last 4 cars making clear entry into Turn1. The race was stopped to clear the track.

Restart
As the race was restarted Bala takes the lead into C1 and was closely followed by Diljith. Bala and Dilith manage to getaway from the pack behind. Diljith desperately tries to pass Bala but Bala manages to stick to his line preventing Diljith to pass him and wins the race.

Race 2 (Sunday)
Race 2 started with the revese grid format with on pole. As the lights turned green and the pack entered in to turn 1 with Diljith taking the lead with a clean start from third on the grid. It seem like Diljith was pulling away with clear gap behind until the race was red flagged on lap 3 due to a collision on the chicane between Vidyuthiyer and Venkat Reddy.

Restart
The cars lined up in the grid with Diljith on pole and as the green light went on Diljith mad a bad start only to see his rival Bala Vijay get into the lead. Diljith from down 4th managed to 2nd and started to catch on Bala and what looked like a tight bumper to bumper racing like race 1. The final 4laps were very close with Diljith tailing Bala as Diljith´s car looked really fast but Bala managed to defend the line on this tight circuit. On the lap Diljith tried a desperate move to overtake Bala on turn 2 but had to grip the gravel but managed to retain 2nd place.

Post race the stewards decided to disqualify Bala Vijay for using a engine head thats not permitted for this class and Diljith was announced as the winner for both races.
Disappointed Bala Vijay said "It feels the result was influenced. Anyway lets see, the championship is still on"
