JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship in Hydrebad

Ricky Donison, Mirnal Chatterjee and Ruhaan Alva emerged victorious in the Senior Max, Junior Max and Micro Max categories in the Finals of the second round of the 12th JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship at the Chicane Circuit in Hyderabad on Sunday.

In the Finals of the Senior Max category, Ricky Donison, starting from pole position, did not have it too difficult for him but there was a tough fight between Chittesh Mandody and Ameya Bafna. Eventually, Mandody finished second and Bafna third.

The Finals of the Junior Max category saw Mrinal Chatterjee taking the chequered flag ahead of Akash Gowda and Mohammad Nallwala. The race saw Chatterjee and Nallwala battle it out but the latter was penalised under article 26.3 and was eventually placed third.

The Finals of the Micro Max category saw Alva take the win comfortably even as Shahan Ali Mohsin and Arjun S Nair battled it out for the second podium spot. Eventually, Mohsin emerged in second place behind Alva, while Nair finished third.

Shahan Ali Mohsin (Agra, Team Meco Racing), Mohammed Nallwala (Mumbai, Team Rayo Racing) and Ricky Donison (Bangalore, Team BPC Racing) are leading the championship table.

The first day (Saturday) was full of action under floodlights and Ricky Donison (Senior Max), Mohammad Nallwala (Junior Max) and Arjun S Nair (Micro Max) emerging in the Pre-finals.

Junior Max (18 laps): 1. Mrinal Chatterjee - 15:23.613; 2. Akash Gowda - 15:25.669; 3. Mohammed Nallwalla - 15:28.890.

Senior Max (20 laps): 1. Ricky Donison - 16:52.977; 2. Chittesh Mandody - 16:56.480; 3. Ameya Bafna- 16:58.615.

Pre-finals:

Micro Max (12 laps): 1. Arjun S Nair - 11:35.855; 2. Chirag Ghorpade - 11:37.643; 3. Ruhaan Alva - 12:22.664.
