Coimbatore, August 3, 2012: Close to 40 of India's most talented karting drivers will converge at Coimbatore's Kari Motor Speedway to battle it out in the third round of the JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship 2012. After two compelling rounds in Hyderabad, the young stars are all set to prove their worth in a championship that is only getting more interesting with each passing race.

Competing in three categories - Micro Max, Junior Max & Senior Max - the drivers are raring to take on each other in a round that will mark the middle of the 2012 championship. The qualifying and heat races will be held on Saturday, August 4, and the pre-final and final races are scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 5, 2012.

Round 1 winners were unable to strengthen their leadership positions and gave way to a new set of winners in the second round. The fight for who will ultimately lead the tally is therefore still on. This only means that this year's championship is going to be a thrilling affair. Back in the fray after missing the opening round, defending champion in the Senior Max category Chittesh Mandody (Team Mohites Racing) dominated proceedings and finished on top from qualifying to the final race.

Leading the points table in the Micro Max, Junior Max and Senior Max categories are Kohlapur's Pradyumn V Danigond (Mohites Racing), Bangalore racer Kush Maini (Maini Racing), and Mumbai based Anshuman Chatterjee (Rayo Racing).

In the closely contested Micro Max Category, Round 1 winner Pradyumn Danigond is in the lead with 87.5 points when it comes to championship standings. With his excellent driving skills, the young Danigond has impressed everyone in the past rounds. Yash Aradhya (Meco Racing), Mrinal Chatterjee (Rayo Racing) and the promising Mira Kirit Erda follow. All eyes are set on who will come out victorious in Round 3.

With 173 points, Kush Maini is leading the table in the Junior Max Category. The talented Bangalore racer, who is last year's Micro Max Champion, displayed his skills in great measure during Round 2. Krishnaraj Mahadik and Dhruv S Mohite of Mohites Racing follow Kush Maini with 164 and 160 points respectively.

Though defending Senior Max champion Chittesh Mandody dominated proceedings and finished on top during Round 2 - his first race in the championship - Anshuman Chatterjee is on top in current championship standings with 166 points. The Ganatra cousins - Mithun (Mohites Racing) and Raj (Rayo Racing), follow him. Raj Ganatra was leading the points table after Round 1.

The winners of the championship will get a lifetime opportunity to represent India in the World Karting Finals. The JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship has evolved over the years and has become much stronger and at par with international kart racing. It indeed is the breeding ground for young karters to prepare themselves for international level of racing. World class drivers like Narain Karthikeyan, Karun Chandhok, Armaan Ebrahim, Aditya Patel have all graduated from this karting championship.
