Race 1
Avdumber wins race while Vishnu and Rahil still keep the title open

The final round of the VW Polo Cup is always a thriller with the title yet to be decided between Vishnu Prasad of Chennai and Rahil Noorani of Mumbai. On qualifying day Avdumber Hegde grabbed pole from Vishnu Prasad by mastering wet conditions perfectly. Championship leader Vishnu Prasad was 0.2secs off pole while Oshan and Rahil, the title contenders slotted in the second row. Guest drivers Maiken Rasmussen from Denmark (Scirocco Cup driver) and Sunny Sidhu (National Rally driver) performed good to qualify in the third row ahead of Ajay Kini. Another young guest driver Chittesh Mandody (Karting Champion and FLGB Swift winner) qualified in 18th.

At the lights Hegde took away neatly from pole but Vishnu missed the trick and Oshan took advantage of it. Vishnu managed to stay ahead of his main contender Rahil who was on fourth. As the conditions were really wet and slippery, only a handful were on the pace. Avdumber soon made a good lead over the others while Oshan tried to open a gap over Vishnu. Rahil looked a bit out of pace and soon was overtaken Ajay Kini for fourth. Alisha's car was hit badly and was flagged to come into the pits and she did. Avdumber won the race with a huge lead over Oshan and Vishnu came in third ahead of Ajay Kini and Rahil Noorani in the 5th.

Race 2
Vishnu Prasad secures the title finish fourth while Rahil gets bumped by Kini

It was treacherous conditions at the track for the last race of the day. The title was still undecided with vishnu leading Rahil by 11 points and Oshan having an outside chance.

At the start, Sunny Sidhu, the experienced rally driver got into the lead. The focus was on the championship contenders as Rahil was ahead of Vishnu but on turn 3 an aggressive move by Ajay Kini hit Rahil Noorani. Rahil was left with an hanging bumper which ended his title hopes as he was flagged into the pits for rectification and rejoined a lap down to the leaders. Meanwhile Oshan made superb start and the championship was even more interesting but Mihir and Vishnu got ahead of Oshan soon. Maiken Rasmussen made a terrific start and gasped ahead of the field to slot behind the leader Sunny Sidhu. Mihir Dharkar challenged Maiken till the flag but couldnt get ahead of the Danish lass. Vishnu was running fourth and managed to keep Oshan and Avdumber on bay and secured the title clean and neat.

Sunny Sidhu won the race with Maiken and Mihir following closely. Maiken became the second ever lady driver to step on the podium in the Polo R Cup after Alisha Abdullah, who had a dismal weekend.

Vishnu Prasad won the 2011 title comfortably over Oshan and Avdumber after Rahil was removed from the competition due to an post race incident at the pits involving with Ajay Kini.
