Group B 165cc (OPEN) National Motorcycling Championship 2011, Round 4 – Chennai MMRT Circuit

Deepak wins both races, Sarath makes a come back to National Championships

Race 1
This race saw the return of GP rider Sarath Kumar make a return to the Group B National Championship which we dominated last year to win the title. At the lights it was Deepak who got the slingshot followed by Jagan and Sarath but at the end of the lap Sarath was on lead followed by Deepak and Jagan. Sarath and Deepak were going head to head finally Deepak getting the better of Sarath to take back the lead. While the leaders pulled out a cushion, Jagan dropped off pace from the top duo.On the last lap Sarath closed in on Deepak and made a move on the fast left hander but Deepak got the line out of the bridge while Sarath went wide. Deepak crossed the line first and it was an exciting come back race for Sarath while Jagan finished third.

Race 2
Deepak took a clean start at light and lead into the first corner followed by Sarath and Jagan. Sarath retired on lap 1 due to the pain in his leg. Jagan on the TVS Racing bike was closely following Deepak´s R15 but he too followed suit to retire on lap 2. At the end of lap 6 Deepak crossed the line first followed by Devakumar (Thunderbolt Racing) and Harry Sylvester (TVS Racing). Karthik was the last to cross the line in 4th.
